Whip rod introductory class

Date and time: In principle, the second Friday 18:30 〜 20:30 (* Closed on public holidays)
Venue mapKobe Women's University education center
Tuition fee¥2,000 each time

What is a whip rod (鞭杆)?
Weapon technique using a short cudgel, which was practiced in the northern part of China, is called "whip rod (鞭杆)" and is widely used in Shanxi and other northwestern provinces.
It is said that the shepherd who originally lived in the mountainous area of China developed the whip rod as a martial art by using a cane to chase the sheep as a weapon.
The "rod (杆)" in "whip rod (鞭杆)" means "stick cut". In reality, a leather string may be attached to the tip of the stick.
When using it for practice, cut a tree called "white wax" that is clogged and flexible to your own size (the length of 13 grips of a good fist, or the height of an epigastrium) and tailor it.
It depends on the height of the user, but the length is about 120 cm.
The whip rod also said in the martial arts proverb, "The three-foot whip rod and five-foot cudgel are so powerful to use.
Since it is a weapon with a length similar to a Japanese cane, it has characteristics that match all usage of martial arts instruments such as straight swords, broad swords, spears, and cudel.
It can be used for self-defense instead of a cane, and can be trained as a self-defense method.
The basic movements of the whip rod are easy and quick to learn, smoothing the movements of the respiratory organs and trunk and helping to adjust the body.
It is effective for low back pain, knee pain, stiff shoulders, etc., and is also very useful as a health method for middle-aged and elderly people.
